Mastery Band

WHAT IS MASTERY BAND?

Mastery Band provides opportunities for advanced-level performers to increase, develop and refine performance skills and precision on a wind or percussion instrument. Covers performance and production, analysis and theoretical studies, historical and cultural contributions and influences, creative aspects of music and appreciation of music at advanced levels of understanding. Organizes objectives for self-paced progress through all four levels. Stresses individual progress and learning strategies and ensemble experiences.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Mastery Band class is a year long class that is audition based. The class meets during the school day and is a part of the Fine Arts Pathway. All students who participate will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the school year including but not limited to Large Group Performance Evaluation, fall band concert, spring band concert, South Cobb Homecoming Concert and the South Cobb Night of The Arts Performance.
